Job Title Athletics Compliance Intern (Hourly)
Job Description

Assist in the administration, monitoring, and education of the compliance program in the Southern Utah University Athletics Department.

General Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide support and assistance in the daily operations of the athletics department compliance program.
2. Handle all daily compliance duties as it relates to recruiting, playing and practice seasons, roster management, and eligibility. Utilize both internal and NCAA software systems to accomplish daily responsibilities
3. Provide rules education and interpretations to coaches and student-athletes as needed or as directed by the Associate Athletic Director.
4. Assist in the filing of student-athlete initial eligibility waivers. Including but not limited to the evaluation of facts, obtaining required signatures, and drafting institutional statements.
5. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director or Associate Athletic Director.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree required.

2. Ability to work well with the public, administration, and students.

3. Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules.

4. Excellent human relation and organizational skills; desire to be creative and grow with a rapidly changing and developing athletic program.

In accordance with Utah State Code 53B-1-110, appointment to this position is contingent upon the successful passing of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s degree preferred.

2. Current or past upper division studies in business or athletics.

3. Demonstrated knowledge and use of computer based applications.
