Job Description

Strategic Communications and Media Relations Graduate Intern

General Duties & Responsibilities

This intern will manage media relations for women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s cross country/track and field. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing press releases, managing social media accounts, and working at the majority of Thunderbird athletic events.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. Strong desire to pursue a career in athletics media relations or sports journalism.
3. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
4. Current or past upper division studies in business or athletics.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and use of computer based applications.

In accordance with Utah State Code 53B-1-110, appointment to this position is contingent upon the successful passing of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign.
2. Knowledge in how to edit photos and video. 3. Writing experience.
